In a three block walkable area, the Owego Art Walk is a great Friday night destination. Galleries are open for the night to feature new artists each month. Unique and unusual sites include second story galleries over Riverow Stores, a gallery with a view of the river in one of the historic houses on Front Street and many more. Art! Music! Refreshments! at each site. Sites will be marked with sandwich boards and balloons and brochures with maps to find galleries on Front Street and Lake Street and restaurants nearby. Artists will display and discuss their works. In some venues, demonstrations or performing arts will be featured. Come and join the fun in our picturesque historic village on the Susquehanna River at exit 64 off Route 17.

Rain or shine. An opportunity to ring the old school bell. Vendors, demonstrations and quilt show. Sample all kinds of foods made with potatoes. The Auxiliary will serve breakfast at the town hall starting at 8am and start serving lunch at 11:30am with scalloped potatoes and ham and the Richford Congregational Church will be serving a potato soup lunch. 11:30 Dr. Donald Halseph from Cornell University will be giving a talk on potatoes with samples. Dave Kohler, past President of the Society for Pennsylvania Archaeology and a Regional Conservation Archeologist with Carnegie Museum will present his report of that Newton Mammoth in Asylum Township, Bradford County, PA that is represented in SRAC's woolly mammoth exhibit. The two-season excavation took place in 1983, and the Andaste Chapter of PA Archaeology volunteered hundreds of hours to make it what many claim to be the most important excavation in Pennsylvania history. Dave will share his own personal slides and share his perspectives of the two summers spent excavating the mammoth who lived approximately 14,250 years ago.

Meet at the Owego Town Square, ride to Rome, PA and back! Ride out to Nichols, then we'll have a killer climb that will test your end of season muscles. After checking out the view from the top, we'll head down to Rome for a stop at eh Antler Ridge winery. Another (not quite as bad) hill on the wy back. Pack a lunch; there are no restaurants in Rome. For those that want to cut about 20 miles, meet us at the Nichols (not Lounsberry) truck stop at 10 am.
