A Place of History A long-awaited Owego Riverwalk has been completed along the shores of the Susquehanna River in downtown Owego, NY.  The Riverwalk begins at Ahwaga Park (a small park at the eastern end of the block of connected commercial buildings known as Riverow) and passes behind Riverow under the Court Street Bridge and continues along the existing Village riverfront park known as Draper Park (a distance of approximately 1,200 feet.)  The Riverwalk was officially opened with a ribbon cutting on February 8, 2010.  (Photo by Gilles Vauclair)

The CBS Early Show announced Wednesday, April 15, 2009 that Owego, NY was the "Coolest Small Town in America," voted by a Reader's Poll through an online contest for Budget Travel Magazine.  Reasons?  Owego has cool restaurants, a good cup of coffee, historic architecture, riverfront attractions, friendly people, a charming downtown with great shops, a great local theatre group,  a 3rd Friday ArtWalk, fierce community pride, and so much more.... Rain or Shine, Bike Tioga a Huge Success! Nearly 130 cyclists hit the road last August, taking part in the 7th annual biking event presented by the Owego Rotary Club and the Tioga County Tourism office. Owego Front Street Tour - A Cell Phone Self Guided Tour of Owego's Historic Homes

Welcome to Owego, a small, but historic village, located on the Susquehanna River in the heart of New York's Southern Tier and the Finger Lakes Region.  Perhaps the greatest evidence of Owego's glory in days of old is the heritage of beautiful homes and buildings that still stand here. These structures serve as a living textbook of the finest architectural achievements of America's golden age.  These buildings not only teach us about the tastes and craftsmanship of days gone by, but also serve as reminders of many historic events and people.  This tour begins on Front Street starting at the Court Street Bridge heading west.

Cost of tour: $4.00 payable by credit card*
Length: 30 minutes depending on how long you take at each of the 26 different stops.
