In one of the most beautiful areas of New York State, Tioga is an historic, rural county in the southeastern corner of the Finger Lakes Region. Rolling hillsides, historic homes, quaint country shops, riverside restaurants, unique farm tours, fabulous festivals and a beautiful river make a trip to this part of the state a memorable visit.
Outdoor activities include some of the best hunting and fishing to be found anywhere. Walleye fishing in the Susquehanna is the best in the state, and three and four foot Tiger Muskies are just waiting to be caught. 2008 "Picture This!" Photo Contest |
The 8th Annual "Picture This" Photo Contest has kicked off! We're looking for new tourism photos! Outdoor sports, events, people having fun, scenic views, river activities, camping, porch-sitting, hiking, and interesting places in Tioga County. 1st prize winners receive $100; 2nd place $50; 3rd place $50. All photos must be submitted no later than September 30, 2008 to Tioga County Tourism, 80 North Avenue, Owego, NY 13827. All photo submissions must be of content found within the borders of Tioga County. Prints, slides and high quality digital photos on CD are recommended. For photo contest rules click here .
