Tioga County's central location provides easy access to and from a number of major metropolitan areas as well as the entire Finger Lakes Region. If you are planning a trip to the Finger Lakes or any of the major cities in New York State, make sure to visit Tioga County - we're probably on your way. New York State Rt. 17 is a major four-lane highway which runs through the southern portion of the County. Rt. 17 (future I-86) provides direct access to the New York State thruway system and other major highways throughout the northeast. We are a little more than an hour south of Syracuse and just 30 minutes from Binghamton, Elmira and Ithaca. It's the perfect place to stop and take a relaxing break.
