Nichols Park PondA sprawling, natural, mult-functional park located in the heart of the village of Spencer. Nichols Park boasts a pond with fishing, large trees, pavillions, baseball field with grandstand, picnic tables, barbecue grills, restrooms, tennis courts, and horseshoe pits. The park surrounds the newly re-modeled S-VE middle school which has playgrounds and basketball courts. There are park benches and walking trails.

Nichols Park is home to the annual Spencer Picnic, the summer "Music in the Park" series of concerts and many other events.

Center of the Village; features historic green with bandstand.  Trout Ponds Park;  Fireman's Lane:  walking path, playground, playing fields, picnic tables, BBQ grills, covered pavilions and restrooms, all surrounded by streams and creek.  Hours:  Open daily, dawn to dusk, from Memorial Day to Labor Day.

Two Rivers State Park Print E-mail

The Two Rivers State Park in Waverly, NY is 600 acres of wooded, picturesque land.  Named a state park in 2005, the state is working on a Master Plan to add more amenities to the park.  At the present time, hiking and biking trails are available.  Directions:  Off Rt. 17/I-86, Exit 60.  At light, go north on Rt. 220 1/4 mile to stop sign.  Intersection with Chemung Street.  Turn right onto Chemung Streete, one block to Pine Sstreet, turn left onto Pine Street.  Go two blocks on Pine Street and bear left onto West Pine Street.  Trails can be accessed via Waverly Glen Park which you may enter at intersection of West Pine Street and Moore Street.  Trail head is across small bridge between 1st and 2nd pavilions in the park. A second Trail head and parking lot has been established on West Pine Street, which is about 1 mile past the entrance of the Glen Park staying on West Pine Street, with the parking lot on the right just past Stropes Road.

Family recreation with picnic tables, basketball court, two tennis courts, children's gym equipment, covered pavilions, water taps and barbeque fireplaces.

 

Access:  Take Rt. 17 (I86) to exit 60.  Go north on Rt. 220 to the stop sign and turn right onto Broad Street.  Take the 1st left onto Pine.  Stay left to Moore Street and entrance to Waverly Glen Park.  

 

There are many trail here used by the Waverly cross-country teams for training.  These trails connect to Two Rivers State Park Trails to the North.
