AOL has implemented a capability for its mail customers to mistakingly add websites (such as www.visittioga.com) to an email "blacklist". This blacklist feature then prevents that web mail server from sending any email to ANY AOL email address for a number of days until the problem is resolved. This can affect hundreds of other websites as well as many sites share the same email server.
The net result is that one single individual can by accident (or intentionally) cause an email stoppage to any AOL email address thereby affecting hundreds of businesses/organizations. Until AOL fixes this access and educates its customers with many steps before this feature is used, we will have to adhere to the no AOL email policy for our weekly e-event mailings.
Visittioga.com uses an "opt-in" subscription model where the user must subscribe before they are added to the list. We do not send any emails out without the opt-in process. We also allow subscribers to "opt-out" at any time by clicking here to send us an email and type Unsubscribe in the "Message subject:" & " Enter your message: " fields.
