Two Rivers State Park

The Two Rivers State Park in Waverly, NY is 600 acres of wooded, picturesque land. Named a state park in 2005, the state is working on a Master Plan to add more amenities to the park. At the present time, hiking and biking trails are available. Directions: Off Rt. 17/I-86, Exit 60. At light, go north on Rt. 220 1/4 mile to stop sign. Intersection with Chemung Street. Turn right onto Chemung Street, one block to Pine Street, turn left onto Pine Street. Go two blocks on Pine Street and bear left onto West Pine Street. Trails can be accessed via Waverly Glen Park which you may enter at intersection of West Pine Street and Moore Street. Trailhead is across small bridge between 1st and 2nd pavilions in the park. A second Trailhead and parking lot has been established on West Pine Street, which is about 1 mile past the entrance of the Glen Park staying on West Pine Street, with the parking lot on the right just past Stropes Road.

Draper Park

  • Located at Corner of Front Street and Court Street Bridge, Owego.
  • Two-person swing, benches, gardens and nice view of the Susquehanna River.

Ahwaga Park

  • Front Street, one block east of the Court Street Bridge, Owego
  • Small park with canoe/kayak launching area.

Livingston Park

  • Rt. 17C West, Owego
  • Ball playing field, bordering the Owego Creek.

Kirby Park

  • East River Road, Nichols
  • Playing fields, playground, picnic pavilions, basketball and tennis courts. Borders Wappassing Creek.

Nichols Park

Located at Main St. Spencer, NY 14883 Nichols Park Pond.

A sprawling, natural, multifunctional park located in the heart of the village of Spencer. Nichols Park boasts a pond with fishing, large trees, pavilions, baseball field with grandstand, picnic tables, barbecue grills, restrooms, tennis courts, and horseshoe pits. The park surrounds the newly remodeled S-VE middle school which has playgrounds and basketball courts. There are park benches and walking trails.

Nichols Park is home to the annual Spencer Picnic, the summer “Music in the Park” series of concerts and many other events.

Marvin Park

Located at Rt. 17C (Main Street) Owego, NY 13827.

Jogging track, water taps, picnic tables, covered pavilions, playgrounds, playing fields, swimming pool, kiddie pool and tennis courts.

Waverly Glen

Family recreation with picnic tables, basketball court, two tennis courts, children’s gym equipment, covered pavilions, water taps and barbeque fireplaces.

Access: Take Rt. 17 (I86) to exit 60. Go north on Rt. 220 to the stop sign and turn right onto Broad Street. Take the 1st left onto Pine. Stay left to Moore Street and entrance to Waverly Glen Park.

There are many trails here used by the Waverly cross-country teams for training. These trails connect to Two Rivers State Park Trails to the North.

Parks of Newark Valley

Located at 9 Park Street, PO Box 398, Newark Valley, NY 13811

Center of the Village; features historic green with bandstand. Trout Ponds Park; Fireman’s Lane: walking path, playground, playing fields, picnic tables, BBQ grills, covered pavilions and restrooms, all surrounded by streams and creek. Hours: Open daily, dawn to dusk, from Memorial Day to Labor Day.

Ransom Park

  • Located at Route 17C, Tioga Center, NY 13845.
  • Town Park – Children’s “Noah’s Ark” playground, restrooms and stage area.

Hyde Park

  • Located at the end of George Street, along Owego Creek, baseball fields, batting cage, fieldhouse & small playground.

Hickories Park

Located at Hickories Park Road, off Rt. 17C, Owego, NY 13827.

100 acre site. Enjoy picnics, sand volleyball, softball, soccer, walking, pitch & putt, rollerblading, biking, basketball, cross-country skiing, fishing, horseshoe pitching, boat launch, fitness trails, playgrounds, rental of covered pavilions, camping, summer outdoor concerts. Along the banks of the Susquehanna River.
